PRIMANIMA ACADEMY: Q&A with the director of Tales from the Prison Cell, Ábel Visky

The session will explore the making of the creative documentary film Tales from the Prison Cell, and the key creative decisions involved in the process. In the film, three imprisoned fathers write stories for their children at home, which are used as the basis for fairy-tale films starring and involving family members. Fairy-tale films have a specific form that is linked to the families' own worlds and capabilities. The creators used animation, live-action short film shot on a built set, and a hybrid work combining the two techniques. The event will look at the path that led to the discovery of these forms, and how independent works of fiction can become an integral part of documentary.
