Kriszta Bódis

Writer, documentary filmmaker, psychologist. The founder and president of the You Belong! Foundation, as well as the developer and head of its education system (VHR). As an artist and psychologist, she addresses and deals with social problems. Besides Psychology, she also studied Aesthetics, and started publishing poems and prose during her university studies. She made nearly a hundred social documentary reports for the Hungarian Television about the situation of people living on the margins. Later she explored the same topics as an independent filmmaker, shooting documentaries for years. She has published five novels. She takes on public and policy making responsibilities in order to promote and facilitate the development of a fair education system equally accessible for Romani or disadvantaged children, and those living on the margins of society. Her work has been recognized by several awards, including the Knight's Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary and the Wallenberg Award.
